Product description 3M™ Cool Flow™ Fan 1040 Series is designed to be used with the 3M™ 4000+ Series Reusable Half Face Masks which are a range of ready-to-use, maintenance-free half face masks. It is designed to reduce heat and moisture build up inside the mask to aid wearer comfort. It includes a rechargeable battery and can be recharged with the included USB charger. 

Product range and intended use

 1. See 3M™ 4000 Series Maintenance Free Reusable Respirator user instructions for list of use limitations for the respirator. 

2. Never modify or alter this product. 

3. Only use chargers supplied with the unit.  (Egston BI12T-050100-BdV)/(Egston BI12T-050100-BdB)/ CUI SWI5-5-B-I38-Cx)/(CUI SWI5-5-E-I38-Cx). 

4. Do not use standard version 3M™ Cool Flow™ Fan in potentially explosive environments. 

5. Do not switch on 3M™ Cool Flow™ Fan before you have donned the respirator with 3M™ Cool Flow™ Fan attached. 

6. When the 3M™ Cool Flow™ Fan is used with 3M™ 4000+ Series, the respirator continues to exceed the gas capacity requirements of EN 405. When tested at the flows stated in EN 405, however, the service life of the respirator with organic vapour filters may reduce by up to 20%. The service life of the respirator with inorganic vapour, acid gas and ammonia filter may reduce by up to 33%. Please take this into account when considering your change out schedule.

7. The 3M™ Cool Flow™ should not be used in the following conditions: a. In atmospheres containing less than 19.5% oxygen b. Confined spaces (lack of ventilation) c.  When the risk is Immediately Dangerous for Life or Health (IDLH) d.  Where the contaminant concentration is above the protection limit defined for 4000+ user instructions For full use limitations please refer to the product user instructions.

Storage conditions -10°C to +20°C and less than 80% relative humidity. Operating temperatures -10°C to +40°C. Shelf life When stored as stated, the expected shelf life of the product is 1 year from date of manufacture. The ‘in-use’ life of the product will vary with frequency and conditions of use. In everyday use, the expected ‘in-use’ life is 1-2 years.
